How much of the minerals can I expect my goats eat?

Consumption levels can vary widely depending on climates, forages available, soil depletion, foodstuff brought in, previous mineral status, stage in life of the animal (pregnant, lactating, dry, etc).
Since these factors are so different in every single herd, it's not possible to know how much each herd will consume of the mineral buffet.
With that said, Megan tracked her own herd’s usage.  Her initial blind guess was that her herd, which consumed about 20 pounds of loose mineral mix per goat per year previously, would consume about half that in buffet and as of February of 2023, that estimate looked to be pretty close, though perhaps a touch low.
